Siyahamba Labyrinth Ministry

A small committee has been formed to promote and assist with the use of the Labyrinth both as a personal spiritual tool and for visitors or group functions.

The activities can be divided into the following categories:

  • Certification:
Two persons, the Dean and Di Abrahams, have already been certificated as facilitators by Lauren Artress following her visit in 2005. There are also a number of parishioners on their way to certification. This process will be managed by the Dean according to procedures laid down by Lauren Artress, and those wishing to complete or enrol for certification should approach the Dean directly.
  • Liturgical Walks:
The celebration of certain special days in the liturgical calendar linked to a Labyrinth walk has proved to be very popular in the past. This will be expanded upon, and has already started with Candlemas on 2 February. Pat Ellis will liaise with the clergy in this regard.
  • Group and Booked Walks:
A number of groups and individuals have expressed the desire to hold arranged guided walks. These will be booked on request, and refreshments and a guide arranged as required. Richard Majewski will co-ordinate these bookings, and can be contacted on 082 566 0071.
  • Guided Walks:
While the Labyrinth is open weekdays from 07h00 to 17h00 and on Sundays, the committee will also hold guided walks every 2nd Saturday of the month, whenever this does not clash with the church calendar. Saturday walks will begin at 14h00, preceded by a short introductory address. Further guidance will be available during this time period.

We hope to keep you informed of progress with these developments, and invite you to "pray with your feet".

Richard Majewski, 021 462 2499 or 082 566 0071
