Prayer & Reflection for World Aids Day
29th November 2007 at 1pm
A sacred time - a sacred space
Where people of all faith traditions share grief, blessing and hope as together we reflect on the reality of life with HIV/Aids.
CALL TO PRAYER
Summoned by the bells, the cry of the muezzin, the sound of the shofar and the invocation of the Spirit, we gather together bringing our hopes and fears and memories.
REMEMBRANCE AND HONOURING
We remember those who have died, those who suffer and those who serve.
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
We intercede for the powerful and the powerless, for governments and families, for all who strive towards the eradication of HIV/Aids.
HOPE AND STRENGTH FOR THE JOURNEY
We draw from God and from each toher inspiration to continue the journey in hope - hope for healing, hope for transformation, hope for a world free from Aids.
This gathering is facilitated by the Cape Town Interfaith Initiative, promoting healing and understanding through inter-religious dialogue, cooperation and celebration.
Voluntary Testing and Counselling by New Start will be available from 10am to 3pm in the Cathedral Precinct,
